Procedure for making Lime lamp (elumiccai vilakku)

This can be done in any temple with Durga or Amman Sannathi and it can also be done at home.

1) Take a big Lime if can take yellow Lime .wash it and cut it into half.

 

2) Remove the juice (squeeze it). Keep the juice. Turn the skin upside down. So that the smooth side goes inside.

 

3) Level the outer skin so that the lamp can sit properly.

 

4) Put thiri and nei or nallennai in a tray or place it at the table provided by the temple.

 

5) Present it do Durgai Amma.

 

• *the juice what you can do is give to temple for abishegam or mixed with little bit of sugar and provide to Amman in your house. She loves that.
• *you can present it with yellow rice (wet the raw rice with turmeric, then put the lime vilakku on top)
• * keep doing and "DO NOT DO FOR CERTAIN PERIOD ONLY"
• *don’t forget to do archanai.

 

Let me tell some secret about amma.

If someone or your jaadagam or in the trance temple tell you to put elumiccai vilakku for 9 weeks or so on do not stop at the 9 week. Amma will not fullfill your wish. All do extra and continue.
