The simple way to do Mahalaksmi pooja at home.
You can do it on friday's, utthiram natchatiram, ammavasai (auspicious for Lord Kuberan) or when ever you want to do.
Things that you need for the pooja is prasadam(food) like payasam, vadai, ponggal(if can) or else anything that you can make IF YOU REALLY CANNOT MAKE PRASADHAM THEN BUY BOTTLE MILK OR FRESH COW MILK OFFER TO HER (boiled it - add to much sugar - its for her)
Lotus flower, jasmine flower,milk, coins, thulasi, mangalkungumam.
Light up your house kuthu vilakku. decorate a bit.
Keep one big tray infront of Mahalaksmi, light a ghee lamp put on the tray, put the coins, flower and all the item on the tray. keep your wallet and money bag at the altar. Then start your normal prayers do pooja for Maha Ganapathy then all other deities in house.
Put sambrani again for Mahalakshmi, then offer the prasadham that you make for her. Now wave sudam for her.
Sit in front of her read the mantra in front of her. While recite the mantra you can do archanai with lotus petal or get 108 coins of 5 sen and do archanai with that. If you got u can do or else you can use kunguman. Put all in the tray. After prayers tell amma why is the reasons you call her, what you want from her.
Wave sudam again and leave the room for a while.
IF YOU ARE PLANING TO BUY NEW MAHALAKSHMI PHOTO- my advise is look for photo that Mahalakshmi wearing green saree and standing position(if cannot find that photo you may buy Mahalakshmi wearing red saree and sitting on lotus position)

nice mantra! During the festival of Diwali Me along with my mother used to offer prayers to Goddess Lakshmi by chanting mahalakshmi stotram and then later burst crackers.
